Bengala yellow washi hemp pants

Low crotch, tapered, lightweight pants by Mittan in bengala yellow washi-hemp with side pockets, patched back pockets, elasticated waist, belt loops and hemp waist string.

This original fabric is woven with washi yarn for the warp and hemp yarn for the weft. The washi yarn is made from strong Manila hemp grown in Ecuador, finely slit to under 1mm and twisted into a filament yarn. Lightweight and quick-drying, it produces minimal lint.
By combining the crisp firmness of washi with the suppleness of hemp, the fabric achieves a distinctive balance of texture—offering both a natural wrinkled appearance and a soft, flexible hand.

Knots and uneveness in the threads are part of the unique character of the natural materials.

Garment dyed in Minamikawachi District, Osaka, Japan, with bengala yellow. A blend that involves fixing imported iron oxide and titanium oxide with natural rubber.

Due to the elastic wasitband the trousers can fit different sizes as explained below.
