ROSE XIII - a black cropped kimono vest

ROSE XIII

This cropped kimono vest is woven through a warp of cotton with wefts of linen, cotton, antique japanese silk and jute.  Small soumak detail in silk.  The neckline and hem are finished by hand.  The ties are made with cotton tape.  Varying weave structures create a rhythm throughout the textile.

All pieces by Christopher Duncan are unique and have there own personal stories, signatures and figures laid in during the weaving process.
