Shirt coat from antique handwoven kimono fabric

Shirt coat by KI-SIèCLE with one button at the top, belt and two front pockets.

The antique ramie salt shrunk fabric (Ojiya chijimi), is unraveled from kimonos woven about 100 years ago. The distinctive, taut texture is unique to hand-spun KARAMUSHI (or CHO MA) and the hand-woven ikat patterns.

The shape is from a historic pattern of a French shirt and uses almost all the fabric of the old kimono, leaving very litttle waste.
