Shirt coat from antique handwoven kimono fabric

Shirt coat by KI-SIèCLE with one button at the top, belt and two front pockets.

The antique ramie fabric, a type of bast fiber, is unraveled from kimonos woven about 100 years ago. The distinctive, taut texture is unique to hand-spun KARAMUSHI (or CHO MA) and the hand-woven ikat patterns.

The shape is from a historic pattern of a French shirt and uses almost all the fabric of the old kimono, leaving very litttle waste.
